Meaning of the Crucifixion - Page 2

SUMMARY

1. Jesus could have run away and avoided the Crucifixion.  But he freely and willingly chose to die on the Cross.  He did this because he loved us so much that he was ready to sacrifice his life to save us from the forces of evil, to win for us forgiveness of sins, to bring us to God to be his for ever, and to make new people of us by making us like himself.

2. Our sins make us unfit to approach God on our own but what Jesus did that day on the Cross gives him the right to bring us to the Father.
